USB Plus Series
The USB Plus Series utilizes powered
USB technology to eliminate external power supply
bricks for USB peripheral devices like printers,
bar-code scanners and signature capture devices.
Available in card and hub solutions, the USB Plus
series can save space and simplify system architecture
by transforming a low-cost PC into a high-performance,
powered USB-compatible retail system. Each product
offers four powered USB ports with cable locking
mechanisms, which also are compatible with standard
USB devices.
Hubport/4+ is an externally powered
hub that connects to a PC's USB port. Hubport/PCI+,
a card solution, is available in both internally
powered and externally powered versions. Hubport/PCI+
utilizes power balancing to provide maximum power
to 12 volt and 24 volt peripherals without exhausting
the PC's five- or 12-volt power. For added flexibility,
the externally powered Edgeport/42+ offers four
powered USB and two EIA-232 serial DB-9 ports, allowing
the connection of powered USB, standard USB and
legacy serial devices to a single box.
